Job Description
Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated and organised individual to join our Pharmacy Quality Control team as a Pharmacy Quality Assurance and Control Support Supervisor.

Our department provides essential technical support to Pharmacy Services, supporting the safe preparation of ready-to-administer intravenous medicines.
In this supervisory role, you will lead a team of support staff, oversee key laboratory processes, and help ensure the safe and effective delivery of Quality Control services. You will play an important role in maintaining quality standards and supporting the day-to-day operation of the department.
This is a newly created post and an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in a pharmacy or laboratory setting who is looking to develop their leadership, technical, and quality skills within the NHS.

This is a full-time post working 37.5 hours, Mon-Fri. Weekend and Bank Holiday working may be required. Flexible working arrangements considered.
If shortlisted, you will be invited to attend an assessment on 10th November. Successful candidates may then be invited back for Interview on 18th November 2026.

What You Will Bring To The Role
We are looking for a highly organised and motivated individual with strong laboratory, quality and supervisory skills. You will be confident working in a regulated environment, able to prioritise workloads effectively and committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality and patient safety.
In this varied role, you will coordinate the day-to-day running of the microbiology laboratory, ensuring samples are processed accurately and in accordance with approved procedures and quality standards. You will supervise and support the QA/QC laboratory team, organising workloads and helping to ensure activities are completed efficiently and to the required standard.
You will undertake and oversee a range of microbiological, environmental and quality control activities, including testing, reporting, environmental monitoring, equipment verification and troubleshooting. Using your analytical skills, you will investigate issues, identify non-conformances and support corrective actions where required.
You will contribute to the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System through the review and development of procedures, management of quality documentation, participation in audits and support for validation and verification activities. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate laboratory records and analysing data using laboratory systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will work closely with colleagues across Pharmacy Services, suppliers and external partners. You will support the development of other team members through day-to-day supervision and training, while taking responsibility for your own professional development.
