We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank Pharmacy Support Worker to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Lindholme, a Category C male adult prison based in Doncaster, with operational capacity of around 900.
This is a fantastic opportunity to start or continue your career in Pharmacy and Healthcare - no previous experience is necessary, and we will support you with lots of training and development opportunities.
Hours & Salary
This is a bank role, and shifts will fall between 07:30 - 17:30, Monday to Sunday.
Bank roles offer lots of flexibility, allowing you to work up to 22.5 hours per week.
The hourly rate is £15.80
Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
What you'll be doing
As our new Pharmacy Support Worker, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
- Support the onsite Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Manager, as well as the wider healthcare team
- Second check medication before dispensing to patients on medication rounds
- Contribute to services such as medicine reconciliation, managing stock medicines and transportation of medicines
- Provide support to ensure a safe and secure medicines management service, following policies, procedures and standard operating procedures
- Work in the medication hatches on the wings
- Be a key member of a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals

Our new Pharmacy Support Worker will have:
- No experience is necessary - we are looking for someone with a keen interest in Pharmacy, and keen to pursue a career in Pharmacy and Healthcare
- An NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Dispensing would be a bonus, but isn't essential
- Ideally have medicines handling experience, although this isn't essential
- Be a hard worker, diligent, with a high attention to detail
