Pharmacy Technician - Community Mental Health
We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated Pharmacy Technician with a keen interest in mental health to work within community mental health teams as a key member of the multidisciplinary team. The post will also involve close liaison with other community based mental health services, patients, primary care, in-patient mental health services and local acute trusts.
Role Overview
The successful applicant will be expected to work closely with the clinical team, which also includes a Clinical Pharmacist, to address the care needs of patients and service users. There will also be a requirement to ensure safe and effective medicines management processes within the service.
This will include compliance with regulatory medicines management standards and implementation of medicines safety alerts. As a valued member of the pharmacy team, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to broader Trust initiatives and priorities. Due to the location of various units, an ability and willingness to travel around Trust locations is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a high level of pharmaceutical care as part of the wider multi-disciplinary team.
- Be instrumental in the delivery of Clozapine One-Stop clinics.
- Work closely with the clinical team, including a Clinical Pharmacist, to address the care needs of patients and service users.
- Ensure safe and effective medicines management processes within the service.
- Comply with regulatory medicines management standards.
- Implement medicines safety alerts.
- Contribute to broader Trust initiatives and priorities.
