About the Role

The Academic Lead Phase III will be responsible for providing effective leadership of Phase III by maintaining an overview of curriculum design, development, delivery, assessment, and evaluation and being responsible for communication with students.

The role is supported by a large team who have direct responsibility for curriculum design, development, delivery, assessment, and evaluation:

  • Academic Lead for MB BS Electives
  • Academic Theme Leads
  • Block leads
  • Assessment team
  • Programme delivery team
  • Teaching partners within Hull York Medical School, the Universities of Hull and York, NHS, and external organisations
  • Hull York Medical School Quality Manager and team
  • Academic Lead for Academic Programme Quality Assurance
  • Hull York Medical School Clinical Teaching Fellows

In addition, the Phase III Lead will work with and be supported by the MB BS Programme Director and Deputy Programme Director, other Phase Leads, and clinical and academic staff.

  • Ensure alignment of the Phase III curriculum content with all Phases of the MBBS programme and outcomes specified in Outcomes for Graduates 2018 and the Medical Licensing Assessment.
  • Ensure that changes to the Hull York Medical School MB BS curriculum are achieved in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure delivery of the Phase III programme as specified in the curriculum and programme specification.
  • Ensure students are prepared for professional practice in the Foundation Programme.
