Role Description
The Phased Array Inspector is responsible for performing on-site PAUT and UT weld inspections at client locations across the United Kingdom. This contract role involves preparing inspection equipment, calibrating instruments, and executing phased array scans according to project procedures and applicable codes. The inspector will interpret and evaluate indications, document results, and produce clear and accurate inspection reports for customers.

The role requires a hands-on approach, working in field environments and adapting to varying site conditions and project schedules.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency in phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT) and conventional ultrasonic testing (UT) for weld inspection.
- Strong ability to interpret, evaluate, and size flaws, with accurate recording and reporting of inspection results.
- Working knowledge of NDT standards, codes, and industry practices relevant to weld inspection in industrial settings.
- Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to make sound technical judgments under field conditions.
- Valid NDT certifications in UT and/or PAUT (e.g., PCN, EN ISO 9712, or equivalent) and experience in on-site inspection work.
- Commitment to health, safety, and environmental requirements, including adherence to site rules and safe working practices.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with clients, site personnel, and internal teams, and for producing clear written reports.
- Ability to work independently, manage time on contract assignments, and adapt to changing project demands and locations within the UK.
- Experience in sectors such as structural steel, pipelines, energy, or heavy industry is beneficial; a full driving license is an advantage.
