About The Opportunity
We are looking to build a pool of PhD researchers interested in flexible, part-time, hourly paid opportunities across Oldham College and University Campus Oldham (UCO).
These opportunities are ideal for researchers who are passionate about their subject and would like to share their knowledge and expertise with further and higher education students.
You may have the opportunity to contribute to teaching, learning, workshops, academic support, enrichment activities, or other subject-related activity, depending on your area of expertise and the needs of the College.
Hours will be offered on a part-time, hourly paid basis, with opportunities available for up to 20 hours per week.
This is a great opportunity to gain valuable teaching and education experience alongside your research, while making a positive contribution to the student experience.

Key Responsibilities
Depending on the opportunity, you may:
- Share your specialist subject knowledge and expertise with students
- Support or deliver engaging teaching, workshops, seminars, or enrichment sessions
- Help students develop their knowledge, skills, and confidence
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Use your research and academic experience to bring current knowledge and real-world perspectives into learning
- Work collaboratively with teaching and support teams
Skills And Experience
We are particularly interested in PhD researchers who can demonstrate:
- Current or recent PhD study in a relevant subject area
- Strong knowledge and enthusiasm for their area of expertise
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to engage and build positive relationships with students
- A willingness to share knowledge and support others to learn
Teaching, tutoring, mentoring, presenting, or other relevant experience is desirable but not essential.
You do not need to hold a formal teaching qualification to be considered for these opportunities. We are interested in the knowledge, expertise, enthusiasm, and potential you can bring.
