Fixed-term for 3.75 years | Part-time with 65% | Salary according to TV-L E13 | Institute of Physiology I (Neurophysiology)

We are UKM. We have a clear social mission and, with our focus on healthcare, research, and teaching, we bear a unique responsibility.

To meet our high standards every day, we are looking forward to your scientific expertise in the Institute of Physiology I (Neurophysiology). Here, we investigate primary cortico-thalamic network states in the rodent brain in vivo using multimodal imaging, combining 2- and 3-photon microscopy, fiber-optic-based calcium recordings, and fMRI to relate locally regulated and dysregulated cortical activity to brain-wide network dynamics. The Subproject B07 of the Collaborative Research Center (SFB/Transregio) is an initiative focused on the modulation of coupled neuronal and glial network attractors via metabolic intervention. The project pursues a bold, systems-level approach to decipher how metabolic states (e.g., fasting) influence the dynamic relationship between neurons and astrocytes and their subsequent effects on psychiatric phenotypes – ideally with you on board!

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
