An Opportunity for an Exceptional Fundraiser

An opportunity exists (to cover a period of Maternity leave for 12 months) for an exceptional fundraiser to join the University of Salford at an exciting time of growth and development. The role reports directly to the Senior Philanthropy Manager and you will be a member of the directorate’s Philanthropy, Alumni and Supporter Engagement (PASE) Team. The PASE team enriches lives by directing time, talent, and philanthropic funding into Salford, whilst enhancing the university’s reputation and reach and providing lifelong connections to our global communities of alumni, donors, and supporters.

Our team has the power to accelerate the University’s ambitions. By unlocking new income, expertise, connections and advocacy, our supporters help transform student opportunities, advance research, strengthen our civic impact and build valuable bridges with industry and communities, while enhancing our reputation and influence nationally and internationally. As a Philanthropy Manager for Major Gifts, your role would be to secure philanthropic income from a wide portfolio of supporters across four priority areas, which includes Student Access & Success, Civic & Community Engagement, Research & Knowledge Exchange and an ambitious Campus Connectivity Plan.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
