Salary: £33,537 pa

Contract: Permanent

Location: Battersea, London (Hybrid working with at least 50% office-based)

Closing date: 23rd August

Benefits: 28 Day Annual Leave (excl Bank Holidays), Generous Pension scheme (i.e., employee contribution 5%, employer contribution 10.3%), Enhanced Parental Leave


We are delighted to be working with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home to recruit a Philanthropy Officer, an exciting opportunity to join one of the UK's leading animal welfare charities and play a key role in developing relationships with mid-value supporters.

As part of this exciting role, you will:

  • Manage and develop a portfolio of supporters giving between £1,000 and £10,000 annually
  • Build meaningful relationships through tailored cultivation, stewardship, and engagement activities
  • Lead on mid-value fundraising appeals and donor communications
  • Manage supporter mailings
  • Support the delivery of donor events
  • Oversee financial reconciliation and performance reporting

Working collaboratively with colleagues across fundraising, finance, and supporter services, you will help maximise fundraising opportunities and contribute to the delivery of Battersea's ambitious income generation strategy.

To be successful as the Philanthropy Officer, you will need:

  • Previous fundraising experience, or stewardship and supporter engagement experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling donor communications and build strong relationships with donors
  • Experience using CRM/database systems and managing donor data, alongside strong administrative, reporting, and financial reconciliation skills
