BHR Phlebotomy Service Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our BHR Phlebotomy service, who will provide effective blood sample collection from patients in the community. This will be clinic-based patients and housebound patients across Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge.
This role supports the delivery of high-quality patient care by providing venepuncture to the wider community within Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge. The post holder will work closely with colleagues to ensure services run smoothly and efficiently. The phlebotomist will work under the direction of the Phlebotomy lead and will ensure a clean, comfortable and safe environment for Service Users.
Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
- To complete weekly stock checks and ensure there is adequate quantities and to place orders through the ordering system
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene to all working areas.
- Flexibility within the role as you will be required to work across BHR
- To work autonomously during clinical sessions
- To be able to travel between Trust sites both internal and external
- To be able to travel across BHR to facilitate housebound patients
- Promote good customer service and public image of North East London Foundation Trust

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

High Cost Area Supplement Outer London (B&D, Redbridge, Havering and Waltham Forest,
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,714 to a maximum of £5,941 p.a. pro rata for part time).
