PHP Developer

Up to £50,000

Birmingham (2 days a week in office)

Are you a PHP Developer looking to join a team delivering a major technology transformation? This is an opportunity to work on a largely greenfield programme, helping to build a modern in-house platform while contributing to the evolution of existing systems. You'll have the chance to influence technical decisions, work with modern technologies, and make a tangible impact on the future direction of the platform.

THE COMPANY

With a strong focus on improving scalability, maintainability, and operational efficiency, they are bringing more development capability in-house and building modern applications to support business growth. Collaboration sits at the heart of the team, with developers, data specialists, QA professionals, and stakeholders working closely together to deliver high-quality solutions.

THE ROLE

As a PHP Developer, you will join a growing development team focused on building and enhancing a modern PHP-based platform. Specifically, you can expect to be involved in the following:

  • Developing new features using PHP, Laravel and modern web technologies
  • Contributing to a greenfield application and supporting the ongoing modernisation of existing systems
  • Building and integrating APIs with internal and third-party platforms
  • Developing responsive, user-focused interfaces
  • Writing clean, secure, maintainable, and well-tested code
  • Investigating issues, performing root-cause analysis, and implementing robust solutions
  • Collaborating with QA, business analysts, and technical stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle
  • Participating in code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supporting the adoption of best practices across development, security, and application architecture

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

The successful PHP Developer will have the following skills and experience:

  • Developing new features using PHP, Laravel and modern web technologies
  • Contributing to a greenfield application and supporting the ongoing modernisation of existing systems
  • Building and integrating APIs with internal and third-party platforms
  • Developing responsive, user-focused interfaces
  • Writing clean, secure, maintainable, and well-tested code
  • Investigating issues, performing root-cause analysis, and implementing robust solutions
  • Collaborating with QA, business analysts, and technical stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle
  • Participating in code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supporting the adoption of best practices across development, security, and application architecture
