About The Role
INTEC SELECT LIMITED is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior PHP Developer to join its dynamic internal technology team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in supporting the development and enhancement of the company's critical CRM platform, which is central to its operational success. Working within an Agile Scrum environment, you will be responsible for delivering scalable and robust backend solutions, taking ownership of complex features, and contributing to the continuous improvement of the development processes. Your expertise will help modernize legacy systems, optimize performance, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and have a tangible impact on the company's technological growth.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of A-Level qualifications or equivalent, demonstrating a solid educational foundation. Additionally, candidates should have over five years of commercial experience in PHP development, with a strong understanding of modern PHP frameworks and best practices. Proven experience with PHP 7.4 (CakePHP) and PHP 8+ (Laravel or Symfony) is essential. Candidates should have a comprehensive understanding of building RESTful APIs, backend services, and database management, particularly with MySQL. Familiarity with software architecture, design patterns, and SOLID principles is required to ensure scalable and maintainable code. A background in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS, Git, Docker, and Linux/WSL environments will be highly advantageous. Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams, along with exposure to Vue.js/Nuxt, Azure, CI/CD pipelines, messaging technologies, microservices, or event-driven architectures, is desirable. Candidates with experience in regulated industries such as Insurance or Financial Services will have an added advantage.

Responsibilities
As a Senior PHP Developer at INTEC SELECT LIMITED, your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining backend systems using PHP frameworks such as Laravel and CakePHP to ensure robust and scalable solutions.
- Designing, coding, testing, and deploying new features end-to-end, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
- Modernizing and enhancing legacy CakePHP applications to improve performance and maintainability.
- Building and maintaining APIs, integrations, and backend services to support business operations and third-party systems.
- Writing clean, maintainable, and testable code adhering to best practices and coding standards.
- Participating in code reviews, automated testing, and implementing CI/CD pipelines to streamline development workflows.
- Supporting architectural decisions and technical improvements while actively working to reduce technical debt.
- Troubleshooting and resolving production issues promptly to minimize downtime and impact on business operations.
- Mentoring junior developers through knowledge sharing, coaching, and conducting code reviews to foster team growth and skill development.
- Collaborating closely with Product Owners, QA teams, DevOps, and other technology stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.
