About The Role
Spectrum IT Recruitment is seeking a skilled PHP Web Developer to join our client's expanding technical team based in Chichester, West Sussex. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in modern web development with a focus on PHP and related technologies. Relevant qualifications include a degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in PHP 8 and experience working with PHP frameworks or large-scale applications. A strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles, code quality tools such as PHPUnit, and automated testing practices is essential. Excellent communication skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively are critical for success in this role. Candidates with experience in front-end technologies, eCommerce, cloud services, or DevOps will have a distinct advantage.
Responsibilities
- Designing, developing, and maintaining bespoke web applications and business systems tailored to client requirements.
- Collaborating with colleagues and clients to gather specifications, translating these into technical solutions, and ensuring high-quality, maintainable code.
- Investigating and resolving complex technical issues.
- Implementing best practices for security, performance, and scalability.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Taking ownership of projects, estimating timelines, and communicating progress effectively.
- Integrating third-party APIs.
- Optimizing web performance.
- Supporting deployment and maintenance activities in cloud environments such as AWS.
- Proactively identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
