Role Description

The PHP Platform Engineer is a full-time remote role responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable PHP-based platforms and services. This role involves writing clean, efficient, and secure code, integrating APIs, optimizing performance, and collaborating with product and QA teams to deliver reliable features. The engineer will monitor system health, troubleshoot production issues, and contribute to infrastructure improvements to support high availability and resilience. Day-to-day responsibilities also include participating in code reviews, refining technical documentation, and continuously improving development workflows and deployment pipelines.

  • Strong programming skills, particularly in PHP, and experience with modern frameworks and tools.
  • Solid software development capabilities, including designing, building, and maintaining web applications and services.
  • Experience with infrastructure concepts such as cloud platforms, containers, CI/CD pipelines, and application monitoring.
  • Knowledge of databases, including schema design, query optimization, and working with relational and/or NoSQL systems.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting complex technical issues across application, database, and infrastructure layers.
  • Understanding of secure coding practices, performance optimization, and scalability principles.
  • Ability to collaborate in a remote, cross-functional team environment with clear written and verbal communication.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
  • Experience with version control (e.g., Git) and agile methodologies is beneficial.
