About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled PHP Web Developer to join our dynamic technical team in Chichester, West Sussex. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining bespoke web applications and business systems for a diverse portfolio of clients. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a highly technical environment, where craftsmanship, problem-solving, and client interaction are at the forefront. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in modern PHP development, with proven experience in object-oriented programming and large-scale application architecture. A minimum of 2-3 years of commercial experience working with PHP 8 and familiarity with PHP frameworks or extensive PHP applications is essential. Candidates should demonstrate a passion for writing clean, maintainable, and reusable code, along with experience utilizing code quality tools such as PHPUnit and static analysis. Strong analytical skills, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to investigate complex technical issues are vital. Excellent communication skills and confidence in working directly with clients and colleagues are also required. A track record of successful project delivery, accurate estimation, and early risk identification will set candidates apart.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain bespoke web applications and business systems tailored to client requirements.
- Collaborate closely with clients and internal teams to understand project goals and technical specifications.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards.
- Implement automated testing processes to ensure code quality and system reliability.
- Investigate and resolve complex technical issues, providing innovative solutions and troubleshooting support.
- Participate in code reviews, contribute to continuous improvement, and stay updated with emerging technologies.
- Estimate project timelines and deliverables accurately, managing priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Assist in the integration of front-end components, including HTML, CSS/SASS, and JavaScript, where applicable.
- Support deployment, maintenance, and performance optimization of web applications.
- Engage in client communication to gather feedback, provide updates, and ensure satisfaction with deliverables.
