About The Role

We are seeking a skilled PHP Web Developer to join our client's dynamic and expanding technical team in Chichester, West Sussex. Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a solid background in PHP development, with a focus on modern, object-oriented programming practices. Essential qualifications include experience with PHP 8 and familiarity with PHP frameworks or large-scale applications. Candidates should demonstrate a passion for writing clean, reusable, and well-structured code, alongside experience with code quality tools such as PHPUnit, static analysis, or automated testing frameworks. Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to investigate and resolve complex issues are crucial. Excellent communication skills are required to facilitate effective collaboration with clients and team members. A proven track record of successfully delivering projects, accurately estimating timelines, and proactively managing risks is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain bespoke web applications and business systems tailored to client requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with clients and internal teams to understand project scope and deliver solutions that meet business objectives.
  • Write clean, efficient, and reusable code following best practices and coding standards.
  • Implement testing strategies using tools like PHPUnit to ensure code quality and reliability.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot technical issues, providing timely resolutions to minimize project delays.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes.
  • Manage project priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment without traditional project management layers.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to incorporate innovative solutions into projects.
  • Work directly with clients to gather requirements, present solutions, and ensure satisfaction with deliverables.
