Priory Hospital Market Weighton has an opportunity for a Physical Health Nurse to join our team.
Based in East Yorkshire, Priory Hospital Market Weighton is a level 2 rehabilitation hospital for adult males, offering bespoke and flexible therapeutic programme with therapies focused on stabilisation, skill acquisition, personal development, community integration, and developing competence and confidence in living skills.
We also have close links to Priory Adult Care community services to develop discharge pathways out of the hospital.
What you'll be doing
You will be part of a compassionate team that is committed to supporting people's wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future.
- Lead on patients’ physical healthcare assessments, care planning and ongoing reviews.
- Provide specialist advice on areas such as diabetes, hypertension, COPD and wound care.
- Lead Infection Prevention & Control across the site, including audits and outbreak management.
- Deliver physical healthcare interventions including ECGs, phlebotomy and wound care.
- Liaise with primary care services to coordinate patients’ ongoing healthcare needs.
- Support and train nursing staff in physical healthcare, observations and clinical assessments.
- Lead health promotion and smoking cessation initiatives.

What you'll bring to the role
Essential for the role
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active NMC registration.
- Minimum 2 years’ post-registration experience in a physical healthcare setting.
- Completed preceptorship programme.
- Knowledge of NMC guidelines and professional practice.
- Evidence of continued professional development.
- Strong communication and clinical assessment skills.
The following experience would be beneficial
- Experience in physical healthcare within a hospital setting.
- Experience supporting patients with long-term conditions such as diabetes, hypertension or COPD.
- Experience with wound care, ECGs and phlebotomy.
- Experience in Infection Prevention and Control.
- Non-Medical Prescribing qualification.
