Priory Hospital Enfield has an opportunity for a Physical Healthcare Nurse to join our team.

Priory Hospital Enfield, Edmonton, North London is an acute and secure mental health service for adult males and females, including medium secure, low secure, and acute wards. It provides specialist assessment, treatment, and care for individuals with severe mental illness and complex needs. It is accessible by public transport, with local bus services and Edmonton Green Overground station nearby. It is approximately 2 miles from central London, with the A10 and M25 also within easy reach.


What you'll be doing

As part of the role, you will:

  • Provide high-quality physical healthcare assessment, treatment, and care, ensuring patients’ needs are identified, planned, and reviewed.
  • Provide specialist advice, training, and support to nursing and MDT colleagues on physical healthcare needs, including chronic conditions, observations, and screening.
  • Lead on Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), ensuring audits, training, and procedures are completed in line with policy and best practice.
  • Work collaboratively with medical, nursing, and primary care teams to deliver services including ECGs, phlebotomy, wound care, and health screening.
  • Support health promotion and education initiatives across the site, while maintaining professional standards and adhering to Priory Group policies and the NMC Code.

What you'll bring to the role

Essential for the role

  • Qualified Registered General Nurse (RGN) with a minimum of 2 years’ post-registration experience, active NMC registration, and a completed preceptorship programme.
  • Consideration will be given to Nurses registered in Mental Health (MH) or Learning Disability (LD) services who can demonstrate competence in the role's requirements.
