Overview

Location: Warrington, Cheshire - based at our Athlete Performance Centre, with some travel and remote working

Salary: £30,000+ per annum, dependent on experience

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Reports to: Dr. Tom King, Founder

The Role

You’ll coach professional and aspiring athletes, and you’ll do considerably more than coach.

  • In one week you might profile a footballer, adjust a programme after a match, take someone through the last phase of a rehab, and help develop cutting-edge sports tech through our sister company, Metrics.
  • We’re a small team, so what you do lands. You’ll own your athletes and make the calls, rather than deliver someone else’s plan.

What You’ll Do

Coaching and Athlete Performance

  • Profile athletes, run performance testing, and track progress against it
  • Design and deliver individualised strength and conditioning programmes built around each athlete’s sport, season and club demands
  • Deliver one-to-one and small-group sessions in the gym and on the pitch
  • Support injured athletes through rehabilitation and return to performance, working alongside medical professionals
  • Adapt programmes as the data and the athlete’s season change

Managing Athletes Through the Framework

  • Run your athletes through KPI’s Athlete Performance Framework - Discovery, Support and Coaching
  • Periodise across macro, meso and micro cycles
  • Communicate with athletes, clubs, agents, parents and practitioners - a real part of the job, not an afterthought
  • Produce educational material that helps athletes understand their own performance
  • Help keep the day-to-day running of our services tight, which in a team this size is everyone’s job
  • Represent KPI on external visits and at workshops, presentations and events

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
