GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES

The PTA works directly with patients and communicates on an ongoing basis with the clinical team in regards to the patients and their changing needs.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Reports to the Director of Outpatient


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Perform all assessments, treatments, and documentation per Agency policies and standards which include State and Federal regulations
  • Develops, implements, evaluates, and modifies clinical services to patients under a physician’s plan of treatment
  • Instructs patients and family members regarding the treatment plan
  • Assists in referring patients to other community resources as needed
  • Maintains professional competence by participating in continuing education programs and sharing with colleagues
  • Maintains and enhances the current level of knowledge relative to professional practice, as well as continuing education requirements necessary for licensure and certification
  • Renders patient care with a high degree of service excellence, which will be measured by family satisfaction surveys
  • Must consistently meet productivity guidelines, timely documentation requirements, and agency expectations for clinical performance
  • Develops, implements, evaluates, and modifies clinical services to patients under a physician’s plan of treatment
  • Utilizes an Evidence-Based Chronic Illness Management approach to improve patient outcomes
  • The jobholder must demonstrate current competencies applicable to the job position

EDUCATION

  • State License: Current N.H. State Registration as Physical Therapy Assistant and in good standing
  • Minimum of 5 years Physical Therapy Assistant experience
  • Working knowledge of state and federal guidelines for Physical Therapy

EXPERIENCE

  • 1-3 years of experience in physical therapy assistant
  • At least one year in a primary health care setting preferred

LICENSES and CERTIFICATIONS

  • Current state Psychologist license
  • Must participate in continuing education programs as required for licensure

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS

  • Work may require hand dexterity for office machine operation, stooping, bending, mobility to complete errands or deliveries, or sitting for extended periods of time
  • Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range
  • Requires manual and finger dexterity; for things such as typing, using a calculator, and eye-hand coordination

  • Work is performed in an office environment
  • Work may be stressful at times
  • Interaction with others is constant and interruptive
