Overview
OSF HealthCare Saint Katharine Medical Center is seeking a motivated and collaborative Physician Assistant to join our Orthopedic Surgery team in Dixon, Illinois. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced orthopedic surgeons in a well-established practice while providing high-quality, patient-centered musculoskeletal care.
Position Highlights
- Work with a dedicated orthopedic surgery team consisting of 2 surgeons and 1 physician assistant
- Mix of clinic, surgical first assist, inpatient rounding, and post-operative care
- Opportunity to develop strong relationships with patients in a community-focused setting
- Supportive leadership and integrated care model at St. Katherine Medical Center and outpatient clinics in Dixon and Sterling, IL

Clinical base hourly pay range for this position: $60.39-73.68
Range shown should be used as an estimate and can be impacted by many factors including but not limited to the critical need of the position, overall experience and qualifications, community need, and other considerations. Additional compensation components may be applicable such as bonuses or incentives which may or may not be based on metric achievement.

Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage orthopedic patients in outpatient and inpatient settings
- Assist orthopedic surgeons in the operating room
- Conduct pre-operative and post-operative assessments
- Develop treatment plans and provide patient education
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging studies
- Perform procedures within scope of practice
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and rehabilitation teams
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- NCCPA certification required
- Illinois PA license (or eligibility to obtain)
- Orthopedic experience preferred, but new graduates with orthopedic rotations will be considered
- Strong communication, clinical decision-making, and teamwork skills
