Job Summary
The Quality Improvement (QI) Physician Lead is a full-service family practice physician who has a passion for caring for the elderly and has the following relationships:
- Collaborates with the Regional Medical Director, Long-Term Care & Assisted Living (LTCAL) and members of the Long-Term Care and Assisted Living Physician Leadership Team.
- Member and in good standing with the local Division of Family Practice Long-Term Care Initiative (LTCI).
- Collaborates with the local long-term care community leadership.
- Collaborates with the local long-term care community Most Responsible Physicians (MRP).

Duties and Responsibilities:
KPI Monitoring and Performance Oversight
- Monitor and analyze KPIs for assigned LTCAL care communities in comparison to identified benchmarks.
- Identify trends, gaps, and areas requiring targeted improvement.
- Escalate risks or concerns to the Geographic Medical Leader, as appropriate.

Collaboration with Interdisciplinary Teams
- Collaborate with the Care Community Leadership, Care Community Medical Directors, MRPs, Clinical Nurse Specialist/Educators, Fraser Health Clinical Research & Quality staff, and other stakeholders to align improvement strategies with clinical practices.
- Work closely with the Division of Family Practice to refine the local solution and/or to address the identified barriers and gaps with the intent of continuous quality improvement.
- Actively participate in the Fraser Health Quality & Safety Governance Structure, including attendance at the sub-regional Excellence in Quality and Safety Committee meetings.
Targeted Quality Improvement Support
- Provide focused clinical teaching and coaching to care communities experiencing performance challenges.
- Support implementation of quality improvement initiatives and best practices.
- Tailor support based on site-specific needs and performance data.
Compensation
Compensation will range from 0.1 FTE ($23,010.20 per year) to 0.2 FTE ($46,020.40 per year) depending on the size of the region assigned.

Qualifications:
- Licensure in good standing to practice medicine in the Province of British Columbia through the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC).
- Maintenance of professional liability coverage through the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) or an equivalent professional liability protection program.
- FRCPC Eligible
- Completion of, or willingness to complete within a reasonable timeframe, Physician Quality Improvement (PQI) training to Level 2.
- Eligibility for and maintenance of medical staff privileges and appropriate credentials with Fraser Health, in accordance with Fraser Health Medical Staff policies.

Note: Some work can be completed virtually, with travel required to local care communities in the assigned region.
