Department:
The Department of Pathology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a highly qualified Anatomic and Clinical Pathologist (AP/CP) to join our Community Division. This is a full-time clinical-track position. The candidate must be eligible for Ohio medical licensure and board certified/eligible in Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology.
This position has the potential for a Medical Directorship of a community hospital laboratory, offering leadership opportunities, career advancement, involvement in community-based pathology services at OSU-affiliated and other community hospitals. It also offers opportunities to participate in teaching and mentorship with medical students, residents, fellows, as well as access to OSU subspecialty consultation, state-of-the-art diagnostic facilities, including advanced molecular pathology, immunohistochemistry, and digital pathology.
OSU Pathology offers a competitive salary commensurate with rank and years of service with bonus incentives; comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and CME support; access to 403(b) and 457 plans with generous retirement contributions and relocation assistance.

About The Department of Pathology
The Department of Pathology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is a dynamic, highly collaborative academic department committed to excellence in diagnostic medicine, research, education, and innovation. As part of one of the largest academic medical centers in the Midwest, the department provides comprehensive pathology services across a broad range of subspecialties while supporting the complex clinical needs of Ohio State's nationally recognized medical and surgical programs.
Ohio State offers a fully subspecialized approach to surgical pathology, allowing faculty to develop and focus their clinical practice in areas aligned with their expertise and academic interests. The department includes more than 85 faculty members representing multiple pathology subspecialties and provides a high-volume, diverse clinical environment with approximately 70,000 surgical biopsy cases and nearly 25,000 surgical resection cases processed in 2025.
The department is recognized for its leadership in digital pathology and continues to expand its work in artificial intelligence, precision pathology, molecular diagnostics, genomics, personalized medicine, and translational research. Faculty have opportunities to collaborate across The Ohio State University College of Medicine and with investigators and clinicians throughout the Wexner Medical Center and The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute.

Faculty Defined
Clinical faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with titles of assistant professor-clinical, associate professor-clinical, and professor-clinical. These faculty will have earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), doctorate (PhD), or other terminal degree in the relevant field. Clinical faculty members are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms of three to five years. They may be reappointed to successive terms. Their principal career focus is the delivery of exemplary clinical care, and may include teaching, and/or research.
Tenure-Track faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with the titles of assistant professor, associate professor, or professor who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. These faculty will have earned a doctorate (PhD), Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study. Their primary career focus centers on research, service, and teaching. Tenure-track faculty with MD, DO or MD/PhD degrees may also be involved in clinical care.
Research Faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with the titles of research assistant professor, research associate professor, or research professor. These faculty will have earned a doctorate (PhD) or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study. Research faculty members are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms of one to five years. Their principal career focus is research.
