Job Description
As a Physiotherapist Assessor / Functional Specialist at Capita HAAS (Health Assessment Advisory Service), you’ll leverage your clinical expertise and analytical skills differently. You’ll conduct in-person or virtual assessments of benefits claimants, develop detailed reports, and make critical clinical recommendations—all within a structured, flexible work environment.
What We Offer

Key Responsibilities
You’ll be responsible for:
- Conducting structured assessments to evaluate daily living impacts of health conditions
- Empathic observation & questioning with claimants in clinical settings
- Analysing clinical documentation & medical evidence
- Writing detailed (3,000–4,000 word) evidence-backed reports
- Justifying clinical findings to support DWP decision-making
- Updating knowledge across disability/rehabilitation conditions
Daily workload: Up to 3 assessments/day delivered via:
- Face-to-face in clinics
- Video or phone-based
About You
Requirements
- HCPC registration with valid practising certificate (PIN) & no current restrictions
- Minimum 1 year post-registration experience
- Proven report-writing & observation skills (concise, high-quality output)
- Excellent communication & interperson ability (empathy, active listening)
- IT proficiency (Microsoft Office) + adaptability for remote systems

Security & Compliance
- Mandatory Gov Baseline vetting (standard baseline personnel security clearance)
- Enhanced criminal record check (spent & unspent convictions disclosed) (The role falls under the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006; exempt from Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974).
