Job Description
As a Physiotherapist Assessor / Functional Specialist at Capita HAAS (Health Assessment Advisory Service), you’ll use your clinical expertise and analytical skills in a different way:
- Meet with benefits claimants in person or via video link
- Write in-depth reports
- Make important clinical recommendations
- Enjoy a more structured and flexible way of working

- Routine working hours:
- Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm (with occasional 8 pm finishes permitted)
- No weekend or night shifts
- Starting salary: £39,500 (rising to £40,500 after DWP approval)
- Bonus scheme: 10% holiday pay (based on quality and performance)
- Hybrid working: Up to 3 days home-based, with clinic work

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments to evaluate conditions and their impact on daily living activities
- Assess daily living by:
- Observing and gathering information with empathy
- Analysing clinical evidence and supporting documentation
- Writing detailed reports (3,000–4,000 words)
- Provide clear clinical justification supporting DWP (Department for Work and Pensions) decisions
- Continuously update knowledge on diverse health conditions
- Assessment frequency:
- Complete up to 3 assessments per day
- Conduced either face-to-face at clinics, via video call, or over the phone
About You
- HCPC registered Physiotherapist
- Valid PIN number
- No current practice restrictions
- Minimum 1 year of post-registration experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to produce clear, accurate, structured reports
- Comfortable working quickly to meet structured targets
- Skilled in Microsoft Office and able to adapt to remote working systems

Preferred Qualities
- Excellent observation and communication skills
- Ability to listen, empathise, and think critically to dig deeper
- Licensed practitioner or access to transport for attending assessment centres
