Job Overview
Frimley Health are looking for a Physiotherapy assistant with a ‘can-do’ attitude to join our team at Wexham Park Hospital to work across a range of our departments. Whilst it is desirable for you to have previous experience working in a hospital or care environment, we are looking for an individual who is passionate about delivering excellent standards of care.
In this ward based role you will be primarily assisting the physiotherapy team with delivering rehab to a variety of patients, some of whom may be quite unwell so you may, therefore, be working in demanding environments.
As part of your application we want you to answer the following questions:
- What is the role of a physiotherapy assistant within an acute NHS hospital such as Wexham Park?
- Which part of the job do you think you would find most challenging?
This needs to be entered into the supporting information section of the application form and will form part of the assessment criteria.
If successful it is essential you are able to attend this face to face, online alternatives will not be available.
Main duties of the job
To provide general support in the area of work under the direct/indirect supervision of a qualified physiotherapist.
- Supervision may be provided on the ward, in the department after treatment or by telephone/bleep access.
- To assist in the care of patients within the Rehabilitation Department, Medical, Orthopaedics and Acute Stroke Unit wards.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
