Job Overview
Physiotherapy Department - Frimley Park Hospital
We have 2 band 7 Fixed term maternity cover opportunities in the Surgical inpatient team including ITU, SADU, PACU and surgical wards including vascular speciality.
Band 7 Team Lead for the Surgical Team
- 37.5 hours including weekend working on critical care and surgical wards
- Available for a 1 year FTC from December 2026 finishing December 2027.
Band 7 Clinical Specialist for Critical Care
- 37.5 hours including weekend working on critical care and surgical wards
- Available for a 1 year FTC from February 2027 finishing February 2028.

Main duties of the job
The Team Lead Post Holder Will
- Take a leading role in the advanced assessment, clinical diagnosis and treatment of patients on the surgical wards and be competent and confident to treat patients in a busy and dynamic critical care unit when required.
- Be responsible for the supervision & appraisal of staff and students.
- Contribute to the in-service training programme.
- Work with the Principal Physiotherapist in developing the strategic and operational management of the service.
- Undertake evidence based projects, including recommendations for change in practice.
- Deputise for the principal therapist in her absence.
- Participate in weekend working covering ITU, SADU and surgical wards at a competent level.
- Be competent to be on call.
The Clinical Specialist Post Holder Will
- Provide highly specialised assessment and treatment for patients with complex needs.
- Provide expert advice, guidance and information to patients, health and intermediate care professionals, carers and relatives and other non-professionals.
- Contribute to the delivery of the Physiotherapy service, and to provide a specialised resource for other physiotherapy staff and health care professionals.
- Support the Team Lead in deputising for the Principal Therapist during their absence, occasionally assuming responsibility for the operational management of the team or department.
