PI System Engineer (AVEVA)
Aberdeen (Hybrid) | Fully Remote Considered | £750-£850 per day (Inside IR35) | 6 Months
An experienced PI System Engineer (AVEVA) is required to support a major PI System migration and consolidation programme. This is a hands-on contract role focused on the integration, migration, optimisation and stabilisation of complex PI environments across OT and IT landscapes.
This opportunity offers the chance to work on a high-impact transformation programme involving critical industrial data infrastructure. You will play a key role in delivering migration activities, system integrations and post-deployment support while helping to ensure business continuity and data integrity throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure and commission AVEVA PI System components including PI Data Archive, Asset Framework (AF), PI Vision and PI Interfaces
- Design and implement PI-to-PI integrations across network and security boundaries
- Lead migration activities involving PI AF databases, PI Analytics, Event Frames and PI Vision displays
- Execute backup, restoration and validation activities while maintaining data integrity throughout migration
- Configure and migrate OT PI Interfaces and validate end-to-end data flows
- Implement PI security best practices including identity management and access control
- Support testing, troubleshooting, performance tuning and hypercare activities following migration
- Produce and maintain clear technical documentation covering configurations, migration activities and operational procedures

Requirements
- Proven experience delivering AVEVA PI System implementations, upgrades and migration projects
- Strong knowledge of PI Data Archive, Asset Framework (AF), PI Vision and PI Interfaces
- Hands-on experience with PI-to-PI architectures and data migration activities
- Experience working across OT and IT environments, including DMZ and Level 4 architectures
- Strong understanding of PI security, access control and governance best practices
- Ability to work independently within a structured programme environment
- Strong problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills

Desirable Experience
- Previous involvement in large-scale PI consolidation, integration or divestment programmes
- Experience working with third-party PI Collectives
- Knowledge of industrial network segmentation, Purdue Model and ISA-95 frameworks
- Experience supporting critical operational technology environments
