Role Description

The Piano Teacher – Hackney will deliver high-quality, in-person piano lessons to learners in the London Area, United Kingdom, with a focus on the Hackney locality. This is a part-time, on-site role that involves:

The teacher will communicate regularly with learners and, where relevant, caregivers about progress and next steps, and may assist learners in preparing for exams, performances, or auditions. The role also involves maintaining a professional teaching environment and coordinating schedules to ensure reliable, timely lesson delivery.

Qualifications

  • Strong practical skills in Piano Playing and Piano performance suited to teaching a range of levels.
  • Experience in Piano Education and Music Education, including planning structured lessons and adapting methods to different learning styles.
  • Solid understanding of Music Theory and its application to piano teaching and repertoire.
  • Previous teaching or tutoring experience, ideally in a private music school or similar setting.
  • Ability to create an inclusive, encouraging, and safe learning environment for learners of diverse backgrounds.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to give constructive feedback and set achievable practice goals.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills, including reliable attendance for on-site lessons in the London Area.
  • Relevant music qualifications (e.g., performance diplomas, teaching certificates, or music degree) are highly beneficial.
