Role Description
Piling operatives will work as part of an on-site construction team in Belfast, supporting the delivery of piling and foundation works on live projects. Day-to-day tasks include:
- Operating piling rigs and associated plant under supervision
- Assisting with setting out, loading and handling materials
- Preparing work areas in line with safety procedures
- Carrying out basic maintenance checks on equipment
- Following instructions from site supervisors
- Completing required documentation
- Adhering to all health, safety, and environmental standards

Piling operatives will collaborate closely with colleagues, site management, and other contractors to ensure work is completed efficiently and to specification. This is a full-time, on-site role with work predominantly based in Belfast, with potential travel to other project locations as required.

Qualifications
- Practical experience in construction, groundwork, or piling operations, with the ability to work safely on active sites.
- Familiarity with operating heavy plant and equipment (e.g., piling rigs, excavators, lifting equipment) and undertaking basic pre-use checks.
- Strong understanding of health and safety practices, including safe systems of work, use of PPE, and adherence to site rules and method statements.
- Ability to read and follow instructions, site drawings, and work plans, and to complete basic site records accurately.
- Good teamwork and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to working with supervisors, engineers, and other operatives.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks, work outdoors in varying weather, and maintain focus in a busy site environment.
- Relevant construction or plant operation certifications (e.g., CSR/CPCS/CSCS card, plant operator tickets) are highly beneficial.
- Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to different sites if required.
- Commitment to ongoing training and professional development in piling and ground engineering techniques.
