Solution Architect – Product Information Management (PIM)

Duration: Initial 6 months (extension likely)
Location: Dublin / Reading / Hybrid (1–2 days onsite)
Contract Type: Day Rate (Inside IR35)

Primark is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of a Retail Product Information Management (PIM) solution. This role will play a key part in Primark’s retail and digital transformation, ensuring high-quality, scalable product data across merchandising, supply chain, and digital channels.

Experience with PIM is preferred, but with strong experience across other leading Retail PIM platforms also highly desirable.

Role Overview

You will own the end-to-end solution architecture for Primark’s PIM capability, translating business and digital requirements into governed, scalable designs aligned to enterprise standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead solution architecture for Product Information Management initiatives
  • Define as-is, target, and transition-state PIM architectures
  • Design end-to-end product data flows across e.g. PIM, ERP, supply chain, digital platforms and Product Development, Product Assortment Planning and Stock Forecasting
  • Produce solution designs, architecture diagrams, and interface definitions
  • Govern solution delivery by system integrators and PIM vendors
  • Ensure solutions meet functional, non-functional, security, and data quality requirements
  • Present designs to Architecture / Technology Design Councils
  • Partner closely with data, integration, digital, and service teams

Essential Experience & Skills

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Solution Architect in large, complex organisations
  • Strong experience designing Retail PIM solutions
  • Relevant PIM experience is essential
  • Experience with leading PIM platforms (e.g. Salsify, Akeneo, Informatica, inRiver, Stibo, SAP MDG) desirable
  • Knowledge FlexPLM, Board or other Assortment Planning and or Stock Forecasting and Optimisation platforms and how they complement PIM desirable
  • Solid understanding of:
    • Product lifecycle management
    • Attributes, hierarchies, variants, and taxonomy
    • Data governance and syndication to digital channels
  • Strong integration knowledge (APIs, middleware; Azure Integration Services beneficial)
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
