Pipefitter / Welder West Manchester (Irlam/Carrington)
£35,000 Basic + Overtime (OTE £50,000+) + Annual Bonus
Location: Irlam, England, North West
About the Role:
Our client, a well-established engineering business based in the West Manchester area, are looking to recruit a Pipefitter/Welder to join their close-knit engineering team on a permanent basis. Working alongside another Pipefitter and within a team of six engineers, you'll carry out a mixture of pipefitting, fabrication and welding work, while also supporting the maintenance team with planned maintenance, breakdowns and site improvement projects. This is a varied, hands-on role with plenty of overtime available, allowing most engineers to earn around £50,000 per year.

What's on Offer:
- £35,000 basic salary
- Typical earnings around £50,000 with overtime
- Annual company bonus (subject to company performance)
- Overtime paid at 1.5x Monday to Saturday and 2x on Sundays
- Additional payments for confined space work
- Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
- Regular overtime available before and after shifts (many engineers work approximately 7:00am - 5:00pm) and Saturday mornings
- Full training provided for FLT, Confined Space and Cherry Picker licences where required
The Role:
- Pipefitting, fabrication and installation work
- Welding using MIG and Stick (MMA)
- Working on predominantly 2"-4" pipework
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Supporting the maintenance team with repairs and planned maintenance
- Assisting with plant and equipment improvement projects
About You:
- Time-served Mechanical Engineer or Pipefitter with a recognised apprenticeship or engineering qualification
- Experience of pipefitting and fabrication
- Competent MIG and Stick (MMA) welder
- Able to read engineering drawings
- A team player with a flexible approach to supporting the wider engineering function
