Placement Student – PowerGen Europe Business Operations
We are looking for an enthusiastic PowerGen Europe Business Operations Placement Student to join our team specializing in Sales for our Distribution Business Segment in UK, Wellingborough. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry.
This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence Summer of 2027.
RESPONSIBILITIES
We have six Business Operations Placement Student roles available across our Distribution Business Segment in Wellingborough, UK. The roles span the business areas listed below, and successful candidates will be matched to an opportunity that reflects their skills, interests and business needs.
The six roles are available across the following business areas:
- Sales Operations – supporting sales and business processes, commercial operations, projects, systems, data analysis, performance reporting and continuous improvement across the region.
- Contracts Management – supporting contract administration, order execution, customer requirements and cross-functional coordination.
- Logistics – helping to coordinate material and information flows, analyse performance and improve supply chain processes.
- Account Management – supporting customer relationships, commercial reviews, sales activity, opportunity tracking and stakeholder coordination.
- EMEIA Marketing – contributing to market analysis, campaign delivery, communications, digital content and marketing projects.

Depending on your placement area, you will make an impact by:
- Supporting day-to-day operational, commercial, logistics, contracts, marketing, account management or sales activities; taking ownership of defined projects and helping teams deliver measurable improvements.
- Analysing data, preparing reports and presenting insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Working with customers, suppliers and cross-functional colleagues to coordinate activities and resolve issues; identifying opportunities to simplify processes, improve customer experience and increase operational effectiveness.
- Building proficiency in business systems and tools such as Microsoft 365, Salesforce, Power BI and Enterprise Resource Planning systems, as relevant to the role.
- Developing your presentation, communication, project management and structured problem-solving skills.
- Gaining product and industry knowledge through training, business exposure and potential site or manufacturing visits; building a broad internal network and contributing positively within an inclusive, collaborative environment.

QUALIFICATIONS
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Be working towards a degree that includes a qualifying placement year. Relevant subjects may include Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, Marketing, Sales, Finance, Economics, Project Management, Data Analytics or a related discipline.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to work with a wide range of stakeholders; be able to manage priorities, take ownership and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Have good analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail; be comfortable using Microsoft 365 applications; experience with Excel, PowerPoint or data visualization tools would be beneficial.
- Show curiosity, commercial awareness and a willingness to challenge the norm and identify improvements; bring professionalism, sound judgement and a positive, inclusive attitude.
