Program Management Student Placement
We are looking for an enthusiastic Program Management student to join our team specializing in Program Management for our Cummins Components and Software business unit in Huddersfield, UK. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry.
This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence Summer of 2027.
Role Impact
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Support Program Managers with the planning, tracking, and execution of New Product Development projects.
- Maintain project records, databases, meeting minutes, and documentation for Management Review Groups (MRGs).
- Monitor project metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), ensuring data is accurate and up to date.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and status updates for project and leadership reviews.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to track actions, risks, issues, and project deliverables.
- Identify opportunities to improve PMO processes and lead small projects focused on increasing efficiency and standardization.
- Assist with project governance activities and gain exposure to business planning, financial tracking, and portfolio management.

Responsibilities
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Hands-on experience supporting New Product Development (NPD) projects within a Project Management Office (PMO)
- An interest in developing project management skills and knowledge
- Ability to understand and apply business processes and project management principles
- Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with cross-functional teams
- Willingness to develop commercial and business acumen
- Ability to work effectively within a global engineering environment
- A proactive approach to learning, problem-solving and supporting project delivery
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
