PLACEMENT STUDENT –Technical Purchase Sourcing
We are looking for an enthusiastic Technical Purchase Sourcing Placement Student to join our team specializing in Purchasing for our Corporate/CBS Segment in UK, Huddersfield. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry.
This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence Summer of 2027.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Provide full support for all aspects and requirements of the prototype ordering process required for customer/engineering prototype builds, ensuring orders are raised, monitored and progressed in accordance with program requirements.
- Manage the Engineering requisition process, ensuring requisitions are accurately processed and progressed in a timely manner.
- Raise, place and manage all required Supplier Purchase Orders (POs), ensuring appropriate documentation and approvals are in place.
- Maintain effective and professional communication with both internal and external stakeholders, providing information as required and following up on outstanding actions, orders and deliveries.
- Complete all assigned training within the required timescales and ensure knowledge gained is applied effectively within the role and maintain all required reporting.
- Provide ad hoc support to all VPI Integrators in relation to program requirements, assisting with activities and tasks as required to support program delivery; attend all required meetings, contributing as appropriate and ensuring relevant actions and information are captured and followed up.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Working towards an Accredited Qualification in Business or Supply Chain; knowledge of technical practices or manufacturing a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as to work as part of a team; demonstrates working to committed deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft suite, such as Excel, PowerPoint etc.; power BI business modeling an advantage.
- Skills in Problem Solving and Project Management.
