Placements & Referrals Coordinator – Education & Residential
Location: Leeds – Hybrid, 2 days per week in the office
Salary: £30,000 per annum + up to 10% performance-related bonus
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
We’re recruiting for a Placements & Referrals Coordinator to join an established Education & Residential provider in Leeds. This is a busy role where you’ll be responsible for managing referrals from Local Authorities and helping to identify the right education or residential placement for each referral. You’ll work closely with Registered Managers, Head Teachers, Commissioners, Social Workers and internal teams, making sure referrals are dealt with efficiently and placement offers are communicated within agreed timescales.

The role will include:
- Reviewing and managing incoming Local Authority referrals
- Gathering any additional information needed to assess referrals
- Working with Registered Managers and Head Teachers to identify suitable placements
- Monitoring current capacity and future placement availability
- Preparing and sending placement offers to Local Authorities
- Keeping referral and placement records up to date
- Building good working relationships with Commissioners and Social Workers
- Supporting new placements through the transition and onboarding process
- Attending weekly placement meetings and providing updates and reports
We’re looking for someone who has previously worked within placements, referrals or commissioning, ideally within social care, education or children’s services. You’ll need to be organised, confident communicating with different professionals and comfortable managing several referrals and deadlines at the same time. Experience using Microsoft Office, databases or CRM systems is required. Knowledge of children’s residential care, fostering or SEND education would be an advantage.
