Role Description
The Planned Works Surveyor is a full-time role responsible for surveying properties and estates to scope, specify, and validate planned works programmes, primarily across internal and external refurbishments and property upgrades. Based in Nottinghamshire in a hybrid capacity, the role combines on-site inspections with some work from home for reporting, planning, and coordination. Day-to-day tasks include:

- Conducting detailed condition surveys
- Preparing schedules of works
- Measuring and costing planned schemes
- Ensuring compliance with relevant standards and client specifications

The role will liaise with project managers, site teams, and clients to agree work scopes, support programme delivery, and monitor quality and progress. The Planned Works Surveyor will also:
- Maintain accurate records
- Update project documentation
- Contribute to continuous improvement in surveying and delivery practices
Qualifications
- Experience in property or building surveying, with the ability to carry out detailed condition surveys and produce clear schedules of works.
- Knowledge of planned maintenance, refurbishment, and upgrade programmes across trades such as painting, roofing, flooring, kitchens, bathrooms, and fire protection.
- Strong skills in measurement, estimation, and costing, including the use of relevant surveying tools and software.
- Understanding of building regulations, health and safety requirements, and industry standards relevant to residential and commercial property services.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients, project managers, and site teams.
- Good organizational and time-management abilities, capable of managing multiple surveys and projects across a regional patch.
- Proficiency in using digital tools for survey reporting, data entry, and project documentation (e.g., MS Office and surveying or asset management systems).
- Relevant qualifications in building surveying, construction, or a related discipline (e.g., HNC/HND, degree, or equivalent experience); professional membership (such as RICS or CIOB) is an advantage.
- Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel within Nottinghamshire and surrounding areas as required.
