Role Description
The Planned Works Surveyor is a full-time, hybrid role based in Nottinghamshire, with the flexibility to complete some duties from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include surveying properties to scope planned works across disciplines such as painting, roofing, flooring, fire protection, kitchens, bathrooms, and fabric upgrades. The role involves preparing accurate schedules of works, cost estimates, and specifications, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards, legislation, and client requirements. The Planned Works Surveyor will liaise with clients, residents, and internal teams, providing clear technical advice and supporting the effective delivery of planned and project programmes. The role also includes monitoring progress, quality, and budget performance, updating records and reports, and contributing to continuous improvement in property services.

- Strong technical surveying knowledge in planned works, including property inspections, schedules of works, and cost estimation.
- Experience within social housing, property services, construction, or related sectors, with an understanding of building standards and regulations.
- Proficiency in using surveying and office software (e.g., MS Office, digital survey tools) and maintaining accurate electronic records.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients, residents, contractors, and internal teams.
- Effective planning, organization, and time-management skills, with attention to detail and a focus on quality and compliance.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within Nottinghamshire and surrounding areas as required.
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., HNC/HND, degree in Building Surveying or Construction, or equivalent experience); membership of a professional body (e.g., RICS or CIOB) is an advantage.
- Commitment to ethical practice, health and safety, and continuous learning and development.
