Location: Wednesbury, West Midlands or Bootle, Liverpool
Grade: RCS. N
Shift patterns: Monday-Friday. Day time hours
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)

DHL is recruiting for a Planner to support an exciting new business win, with opportunities available in Wednesbury (West Midlands) and Bootle (Liverpool). Joining a high-performing transport team, you'll help coordinate daily transport operations, drive efficiency, and ensure customer deliveries are completed safely, compliantly, and on time. A Typical Day May Involve
- Develop and deliver efficient transport network plans using TMS and Paragon, ensuring planning deadlines, load fill, utilisation, and service KPIs are consistently achieved
- Build and optimise loads, routes, trips, vehicle, trailer and driver allocations, making real-time adjustments to ensure deliveries are completed on time and in full
- Monitor daily transport operations, providing proactive support to local transport offices and ensuring adherence to SOPs, work instructions and operational checklists
- Manage delivery point communications and stakeholder engagement, building strong relationships with transport sites, suppliers, contractors, customers and delivery locations
- Analyse planning and operational data to produce management information, identify improvement opportunities, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the network
- Support Planning Manager-led Plan/Do/Review activities by implementing agreed actions, updating systems and driving performance improvements
- Effectively manage subcontracted transport requirements, working with DHL operations and external providers to maintain service levels
- Supporting new customer implementations, change programmes, knowledge sharing, and the training and development of Planning Support team members

This Role Would Suit People Who
- Previous Transport Planning experience within a Supply Chain environment is essential
- Experience using Paragon planning software is desirable
- Strong problem-solving, analytical and reasoning skills, with the ability to make effective decisions under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to remain disciplined, focused and organised, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrates a right-first-time attitude, positive can-do approach, passion for delivering results, and respect for others
