FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading contractor in the UK water sector for an experienced Senior Planner to join their team supporting major projects within the Anglian Water region.
This is an excellent opportunity for a planning professional with experience in major infrastructure, water, utilities or civil engineering projects to play a key role in delivering critical programmes while leading and developing a team of planners.

Senior Planner Role
Join a Planning Team supporting the successful delivery of major projects within the Anglian Water framework.
- Lead and develop planning resources, driving a culture of planning excellence across project teams.
- Ensure project programmes remain on track by identifying risks, implementing mitigation measures and supporting successful project delivery.
- Provide clear and accurate project updates to key stakeholders through effective reporting and performance data.
- Work collaboratively with operational and delivery teams to improve programme performance and support project success.
- Play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with client expectations.

Senior Planner Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and manage detailed project plans and programmes.
- Provide strategic planning support to project teams, ensuring resources are aligned with programme objectives.
- Identify programme risks and opportunities, implementing mitigation strategies where required.
- Monitor project progress and produce regular programme reports, highlighting key milestones and performance.
- Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, communicating programme status and planning outcomes.
- Facilitate collaborative planning activities and promote best-practice planning methodologies.
- Drive accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement across project teams.
- Champion health, safety and wellbeing throughout all planning activities.
Senior Planner Requirements
- Proven planning experience on major infrastructure, utilities, water or civil engineering projects.
- Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6.
- Experience leading, mentoring or developing planning teams.
- Excellent programme management and project controls expertise.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to present complex programme information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- A proactive approach with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
- Previous experience within the water sector is highly desirable.
