Talented people are the key to our success.
Are you an experienced construction professional looking to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Planner to join our Planning Team, supporting the delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects across the YTL Wessex Water AMP8 Framework.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on a major infrastructure programme, developing your planning expertise within a highly experienced and supportive team. The role would suit either an established planner looking to broaden their experience or an experienced Site Agent/Project Manager seeking a transition into planning.
The Role
Reporting to the Planning Manager, you will provide planning support across both pre-construction and construction phases, helping to plan, programme and monitor multiple projects within the framework.
Working closely with both pre-construction and operational delivery teams, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are effectively planned, managed and delivered.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce, manage and update pre-construction and construction programmes.
- Support the communication of programme progress to internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in the management and assessment of programme change events.
- Monitor critical paths, identify pinch points and challenge programme logic to improve performance and mitigate delays.
- Develop fully logic-linked programmes covering design, permissions, procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
- Integrate supply chain programmes into the master programme and monitor progress against baselines.
- Contribute to risk management processes, identifying and communicating programme-related risks.
- Support programme controls and reporting across multiple projects.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
