Senior Project Planner – Data Centre Construction UK OR EU BASED ONLY

About the Role
Pentagon Technical Services is seeking an experienced Senior Project Planner to support the delivery of major hyperscale data centre projects across Europe.
We are looking for a planner with a strong background in mission-critical construction, ideally within the data centre sector. Candidates with experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences or other highly regulated mission-critical environments will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Scheduling
- Develop, maintain and update integrated project programmes using Primavera P6 and/or Asta Powerproject.
- Produce baseline programmes, look-ahead schedules and recovery programmes.
- Monitor critical path activities and identify programme risks and opportunities.
- Develop "what-if" scenarios and mitigation plans to maintain project milestones.
- Manage programme changes and ensure all revisions are accurately documented.

Project Controls
- Monitor project progress against programme and contractual milestones.
- Produce weekly and monthly planning reports, dashboards and S-curves.
- Analyse schedule performance and provide accurate forecasts.
- Carry out delay analysis and support extension of time (EOT) submissions where required.
- Support earned value management (EVM) and project controls reporting.
Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers and Commercial teams.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, QA/QC and commissioning teams.
- Attend client meetings and present programme updates.
- Interface with subcontractors to ensure accurate progress reporting and programme alignment.
Commissioning & Handover
- Integrate commissioning, testing and handover activities into the master programme.
- Coordinate Mechanical Completion (MC), Turnover and Integrated Systems Testing (IST) milestones.
- Support phased handovers and client readiness activities.
Risk & Change Management
- Identify programme risks and develop recovery strategies.
- Monitor subcontractor performance against programme.
- Ensure change events are reflected within the project schedule.
- Maintain programme integrity throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements
- Proven experience as a Project Planner or Senior Planner on large-scale construction projects.
- Previous data centre experience is highly desirable.
- Candidates from pharmaceutical, life sciences, cleanroom, power, semiconductor or other mission-critical environments will also be considered.
- Strong understanding of project controls and construction planning.
- Experience managing complex programmes through design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary project environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
