Role overview

Knights Brown is an independent civil engineering contractor. We deliver complex work across coasts & ports, energy, water utilities, infrastructure, and buildings, combining engineering expertise with a directly employed workforce and owned plant fleet.

We are looking for a Planner to support the delivery of civil engineering and infrastructure projects across Wales and the wider UK. This role will take responsibility for developing, managing, and monitoring project programmes, ensuring works are delivered safely, to programme, and in accordance with contractual requirements.

Working closely with operational, commercial, and client teams, you will help drive successful project outcomes through effective planning and programme management.

This role offers the opportunity to take ownership and influence outcomes in the delivery of complex projects.

What you’ll be doing

  • Develop and manage construction programmes that are realistic, contractually compliant, and reflect site delivery requirements.
  • Produce and maintain NEC3/NEC4 programmes for submission, acceptance, and ongoing project reporting.
  • Monitor site progress, identify delays, and work with project teams to implement mitigation strategies.
  • Review compensation events and programme impacts, providing evidence to support contractual claims.
  • Support commercial teams with programme-related input for resource and cost planning.
  • Develop tender programmes and support pre-construction activities.
  • Build effective relationships with site teams, clients, and stakeholders, providing clear programme updates and forecasts.
  • Support junior planners and contribute to a collaborative planning function

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
