Senior Planner – Civils
An established and highly regarded construction business is looking to appoint an experienced Planner with strong Primavera P6 experience to join its team in Swansea.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Planner, Project Planner, or Senior Planner with a background in civil engineering and construction who is looking to work on challenging and high-value projects across South Wales and beyond.
The successful candidate will play a key role within the Civils division, supporting the planning and delivery of major civil engineering projects from pre-construction through to completion.
The Role
As a Planner, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project programmes, working closely with project teams, commercial teams, and site management to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to programme.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Developing and maintaining detailed construction programmes using Primavera P6
- Supporting the planning and programming of civil engineering and infrastructure projects
- Working with project and site teams to establish realistic programmes and key milestones
- Monitoring progress against the agreed programme and identifying potential delays
- Providing regular programme updates, reports, and progress information
- Carrying out programme analysis and identifying critical path activities
- Supporting project teams with look-ahead programmes and short-term planning
- Identifying risks, opportunities, and potential programme impacts
- Working closely with commercial and operational teams to understand project performance
- Assisting with recovery programmes and mitigation strategies where required
- Contributing to project reviews and progress meetings
- Ensuring programmes are accurate, achievable, and aligned with project objectives

About You
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a Planner within the construction or civil engineering sector, with demonstrable experience using Primavera P6.
You Should Have
- Previous experience as a Planner / Project Planner / Senior Planner
- Strong Primavera P6 (P6) experience
- A background in civil engineering, civils, infrastructure, or major construction projects
- Good understanding of construction planning and programming
- Experience monitoring project progress against baseline programmes
- Knowledge of critical path analysis and programme development
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to work collaboratively with site, commercial, and project teams
- A proactive approach and strong attention to detail
