About the Role
As a Planner, you'll play a key role in managing demand and supply planning activities to ensure the efficient flow of products across the supply chain. This role focuses on maintaining optimal inventory levels, aligning supply plans with customer demand, and supporting operational excellence across procurement, warehousing, and customer operations. The Planner plays a critical role in ensuring product availability for industrial customers while balancing cost, service, and inventory efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain demand forecasts using historical data, customer insights, and market trends.
- Create and manage supply and replenishment plans to ensure consistent product availability.
- Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to avoid stockout while minimizing excess and obsolescence.
- Work closely with customer operations, sales, and procurement teams to align supply with customer requirements.
- Identify and proactively resolve supply chain risks such as shortages, delays, or demand fluctuations.
- Analyse planning data and performance metrics (e.g. service levels, fill rates, inventory turns) and recommend improvements.
- Manage and maintain accurate planning parameters and master data within ERP/MRP systems.
- Support new product introductions (NPI) and product lifecycle planning.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across planning processes and supply chain efficiency.

Qualifications
- 3 years professional experience in materials planning, inventory planning, or demand forecasting.
- Planning experience with SAP would be advantageous but not a requirement.
- Experience in a distribution environment is a plus.
- Demonstrate attention to detail, be able to prioritize multiple tasks, easily adapt to changing situations, and work well under pressure.
- Have strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work in teams with members from various disciplines.
Required Skills
- Ability to communicate at all levels, to build and maintain strong working relationships
- Ability to plan and organise workload, to work to tight timescales, managing priorities and pressure.
- Proficient in Excel
Preferred Skills
- Planning experience with SAP would be advantageous but not a requirement.
- Experience in a distribution environment is a plus.
