Summary

Caddick Construction is a family-owned business renowned for quality, integrity, and innovation in the construction sector. We are seeking a Planner to join our Midlands region, working on a large residential project in Birmingham City Centre.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules, including Design Deliverable Programmes, Procurement Programmes, and Commissioning and Completion Programmes.
  • Support critical path analysis to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Review tender/construction drawings, specifications, and bills to contribute to robust build sequences.
  • Help create integrated Project Programmes that measure progress across all project stages.
  • Contribute to the development of Information Required and Procurement Schedules.
  • Review subcontractor programmes and assist in ensuring alignment with overarching Project Programmes.
  • Collaborate with on-site project delivery teams to support project goals and meet business unit targets.
  • Provide consistent and reliable programme data to the Project Management team.
  • Assist in preparing and delivering reports, including updates on critical paths and rescheduled activities.
  • Support the identification of potential issues with project plans and assist in proposing solutions to mitigate impact.
  • Help challenge proposed changes to ensure project objectives are not compromised.
  • Support project teams with planning systems and processes.
  • Contributing to the delivery of accurate and reliable project schedules.
  • Assisting in the provision of detailed planning insights to Project Management teams.

What We’re Looking For

Skills and Experience

  • Some experience in a planning role within the construction industry or relevant exposure to project planning activities.
  • Basic knowledge of project planning systems and tools, with a willingness to learn and develop.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in relevant planning software.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a collaborative mindset.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with an eagerness to grow in a planning role.
