THE ROLE - Buyer / Planner
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a rapidly expanding and growing business in Gloucestershire to operate in a Planner / Buyer capacity and own the full procurement process.
You will be responsible for analysing and managing production schedules, monitoring current inventory levels and processing the order management phase to support the business in its day-to-day project delivery.
You’ll be supporting a multi-site operation that is growing rapidly and will be accountable for successful delivery across those sites.
Overall an exciting opportunity to work with a growing name in the aerospace and defence sector.
DUTIES - Buyer / Planner
Planning
- Analyse customer forecasts and production requirements
- Establish material demand and capacity needs.
- Own the production schedule for 2 sites.
- Monitor work centre capacity in MRP
- Issue the weekly Work to List to Production at each site.
- Generate manufacturing Works Orders from MRP and make sure the optimal production method is used when raising them.

Procurement
- Raise material purchase orders in the ERP / MRP system
- Review and manage the status of open purchase orders.
- Assess best cost, quality, quantity, delivery and service in purchasing decisions
- Support external subcontractors and suppliers on purchasing KPI’s
- Work with Engineering on procurement requirements for NPI.
Inventory and stock control
- Monitor inventory levels to maintain efficient business operation.
- Recommend and maintain stock levels on purchased components.

- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong ERP / MRP systems usage.
- Solid production planning capability.
- Strong transactional purchasing capability.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Clear, direct communication skills
- Full UK Driving licence (multi-site cover)
