We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Planner to join our team, supporting the delivery of a major infrastructure programme currently progressing through the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) phase. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping and delivering a complex, long-term scheme within a growing and high-profile sector.
Working alongside a resolute project team, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project programmes, providing accurate reporting and planning support throughout the project lifecycle. As the project progresses through ECI and into delivery, you will have the opportunity to influence project outcomes and support the successful execution of critical infrastructure works.

Role Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed project programmes using Primavera P6.
- Support the planning and delivery of projects through the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) phase and into construction delivery.
- Monitor project performance and progress against programme milestones and key objectives.
- Produce regular progress reports, programme updates and performance analysis for project teams and stakeholders.
- Identify programme risks, delays, and opportunities, providing recommendations to support successful project delivery.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams to ensure programme information remains accurate and up to date.
- Support project controls activities, including forecasting, performance measurement, and reporting.
- Assist with NEC4 contract administration and programme management requirements.
- Analyse project data and provide meaningful insights to support decision-making.
- Contribute to planning best practice, continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned.
- Engage with project stakeholders to ensure programme requirements are clearly understood and aligned across the project team.

Skills, Experience And Qualifications
- Experience in a planning role within infrastructure, energy, utilities, or major construction projects.
- Site-based experience within infrastructure or energy sectors.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 for programme development, monitoring, and reporting.
- Understanding of project controls principles and project performance management.
- Experience producing progress reports, programme analysis, and forecasting information.
- Knowledge of NEC4 contracts and programme management requirements.
- Experience using Power BI for reporting, visualisation, and performance tracking.
- Familiarity with project collaboration and planning platforms such as Aphex.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with excellent diligence.
- Ability to interpret complex project information and communicate findings effectively.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Initiative-taking, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities within a dynamic project environment.
- Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary project team.

About The Energy Business Unit
We have extensive experience in upgrading and replacing energy networks, delivering asset management for major UK energy companies and network operators.
Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground. Within the electricity sector we install and maintain assets, including excavation, laying, and jointing of cables, (fluid filled and XLPe), substations and overhead line, new build, repair, and refurbishment services.
