Construction Planner required for a major data centre project in Acton
An established and growing main contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Construction Planner to join its team on a large-scale data centre construction project in Acton, West London.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering complex projects across the data centre, mission-critical, defence and energy sectors. With a strong pipeline of secured work, the business offers long-term career progression and the chance to work on some of the UK's most technically demanding construction projects.

The Role
Reporting to the Senior Planner and Project Leadership Team, you'll be responsible for developing, maintaining and monitoring project programmes throughout the construction lifecycle.
Working collaboratively with project managers, engineers, commercial teams and site management, you'll provide accurate programme information to ensure the successful delivery of this major data centre development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed construction programmes using Primavera P6, ASTA Powerproject or Microsoft Project
- Prepare baseline programmes and regularly update live construction schedules
- Monitor project progress and report against key milestones
- Analyse critical path, float, programme risks and potential delays
- Produce look-ahead programmes, progress reports and planning updates
- Support project teams with recovery programmes and "what-if" scenario analysis
- Assist with programme baselining, change control and schedule management
- Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers and commercial teams to support project delivery
- Provide planning support during tender and pre-construction stages where required
- Assist with programme records, extension of time submissions and delay analysis
- Promote continuous improvement in planning processes and reporting standards

About The Project
You'll initially be based on a flagship data centre construction project in Acton, West London.
The Development Includes
- Multiple high-specification data halls
- Complex electrical and mechanical infrastructure
- High Voltage and Medium Voltage power installations
- Backup generation systems
- Associated office accommodation and ancillary buildings
- Extensive civil engineering, highways and external works
This is a long-term project that offers the opportunity to work on one of London's most significant mission-critical developments.
What We're Looking For
Essential Experience
- Previous experience as a Construction Planner, Project Planner or Planning Engineer
- Experience working on major construction, infrastructure or mission-critical projects
- Strong understanding of construction methodology, sequencing and programme management
- Excellent working knowledge of Primavera P6, ASTA Powerproject or Microsoft Project
- Experience producing and maintaining construction programmes through all project stages
- Good understanding of NEC3, NEC4 and/or FIDIC contracts
- Strong analytical, communication and reporting skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and document management platforms such as SharePoint

Qualifications
- Degree, HNC or equivalent qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Controls or a related discipline
- Planning or Project Controls qualifications desirable
- Commitment to continuous professional development
