Responsibility:

• Feeding the electrical elements of the schedule into the overall detailed MEH schedule and mapping back to the Integrated Work Schedule (IWS), reviewing and integrating supplier information, working with the key stakeholders, communicating key information, and flagging successes/risks in period.
• Work closely with Project Managers and Construction Leads to develop robust installation schedules and delivery readiness plans, ensuring the electrical scope is fully integrated and prepared for future execution activities.

Drive for success:

• Forward planning to highlight any potential risks in a timely manner and drive mitigation sessions with the project managers.

Scenario Schedule planning:

• Carry out scenario planning where required to understand adjustment event impacts on key milestones/interfaces or potential opportunities; presenting the information visually for acceptance by the wider team.

P6 skills:

• Expert skills within P6 software with displaying the data, adding activities, resources, costs, and baselines with the correct calendar to adhere to the procedures in place within the project.

Subject Matter Expert:

• Utilize planning experience from other projects and knowledge to challenge and support the scope owner for successful, efficient delivery of the scope.

Health and Best Practice:

• Ensure a basis of schedule for the electrical scope is defined and bound to support the schedule information and a clear audit trail for applying baselines and monthly progress is thoroughly undertaken with spotlight schedules issued and stored in a shared file for access by the required stakeholders.

Planning Methodology:

• Drive the development of schedule information with the adequate level of detail for the phase of the works with rolling wave planning methodology approach.
• Carry out schedule checks on a periodic basis to ensure the health and robustness of the schedule is maintained.

Wider Understanding of Project Controls:

• Understand the risk associated with the scope and how these would map to deliverables; communicate risks to the planning manager to ensure this is captured in the risk documentation.
• Understand the budget and cost profiles within year, within the current contract.

Reporting:

• Produce and feed into reporting frameworks and generate regular progress reports for stakeholders, detailing key metrics such as in period movement, year to date, and potential upcoming risks to schedule.
• Utilize earned value management (EVM) from the outset to build a strong performance assessment baseline.

Cost and Resource:

• Resource load the schedule and produce histograms and resource profiles to support the delivery management.
• Confident in carrying out resource loading/levelling and reports to communicate profiles to the team.

Quality Control:

• Collaborate with quality teams to define early-stage quality standards and control measures, ensuring that as the project progresses, it adheres to the highest standards.

Data Analysis and Forecasting:

• Review supplier schedules and feed into the MEHA detail at an appropriate level where required and communicate honestly the impact/forecasting to support mitigation plans and honest, open culture on reporting progress.

Stakeholder Communication:

• Establish clear and effective communication channels with all project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and internal teams, supporting visibility into project performance and alignment with project goals.

Minimum Qualifications/ Experience:

• A degree or equivalent with professional work experience in one or more specific disciplines relative to the role profile.
• MAPM, P6 Advanced, accreditation.
• Extensive experience as a Senior Planning Engineer on large and complex infrastructure projects, with a particular emphasis on projects in their early stages of development.
• Experience in the overall project controls integration and how the schedule is vital in delivering success.
• In-depth understanding of earned value analysis (EVA) and other key project controls methodologies.
• Previous experience in developing detailed schedules and working with a large team of planning engineers with interface schedules.
• Strong team skills, with the ability to support newcomers to the team and a positive/respectful attitude when working alongside others to achieve a common goal.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, from graduates to directors.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a track record of delivering solutions in a fast-paced, complex project environment.
